HHA MEMBER CODY KITCHIN

Name: Cody Kitchin

Occupation: CPA

How long have you been a member of Hellgate Hunters and Anglers?
I joined the board in December of 2016

How did your passion for wildlife, wild places, and fair chase hunting and
fishing blossom? I have always loved being outside, especially hunting and fishing. I grew up watching my dad and older brothers hunt. When I was young, I was counting down the days until I could tag along. As far as fishing goes, I was pretty spoiled growing up. Our house sat on 13 acres with a creek flowing through it. This little honey hole was home to some of the biggest browns I have caught to this day!

Favorite/most memorable hunting/fishing story? Definitely the moose hunt with my dad and brothers a few years back. It was a once-in-a-lifetime hunt and couldn’t have ended any better!

Favorite River/Hunting snack? River snack – pork chop in a can. Hunting snack – jerky.
Choose your weapon:  fly rod, rifle, or bow? Bow, no doubt about it. There is nothing that compares to chasing elk during the rut. Hiking in before light, the cool crisp morning air, the stillness and silence until that bull rips off a bugle in the distance…love it and can’t wait until next season!

What is the best hunting advice you have received?
Slow down, glass more, be patient and don’t get frustrated

What hunting/fishing adventures are on your bucket list?
A combined Moose and Caribou hunting/Halibut and Salmon fishing trip to Alaska
